MTSU Business Plan Competition 2016

The Wright Travel Chair in Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition, open to all current MTSU students and alumni, is the year's main Entrepreneurship event through Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University. Prominent early-stage company investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from the middle Tennessee area will judge the presentations by the final student teams.

It is designed to help students and alumni in launching new business ventures, including for-profit businesses, not-for-profit businesses, corporate entrepreneurship, and social enterprise. Participants enhance their MTSU learning experience, gain feedback on ideas, develop networks, and expose their ideas to potential investors.

New Jones College Course on Family Businesses

Assistant professor Jerry Kudlats will teach the class, and Patrick Geho, executive state director of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, is helping him line up guest speakers.

Tatum Voted Association for Corporate Growth Vice Chair

Speakers included Bo Burlingham, Cliff Oxford, and Doug Tatum. Tatum is the holder of the Wright Travel Chair in Entrepreneurship. He is a recognized expert on capital markets and entrepreneurial growth businesses, having testified before Congress on more than one occasion concerning the financing issues faced by growing companies. He was the founder and Chairman of the nation’s largest executive services firm, Tatum, LLC.
