Global Commerce: Foreign Investment into Tennessee

Consumer Survey Shows Confidence Up

Middle Tennessee consumers are more optimistic about the economy in early 2014, according to a survey conducted by the Jones College of Business Office of Consumer Research at MTSU. “More positive consumer outlook measures can signal an increased willingness to spend among consumers, which can further add to any growth in the economy,” said Tim Graeff, director. “Local consumers appear to be increasingly optimistic about continued improvements in the economy.” [ more at Tennessean.com ]

Henderson Wins Innovative Excellence Award

Ronda Henderson, Department of Business Communication and Entrepreneurship, received the 2013 Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology. The competition was open to the entire university.

Henderson will represent  Jones College and MTSU at the International Conference on College Teaching and Learning in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, in March, where she will make a presentation about her work and be honored at a special awards ceremony, which will include the presentation of a trophy.  She will also be the MTSU nominee for the Ernest L. Boyer International Award for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology.

Favorite Professor

Ken Hollman, Martin Chair of Insurance, won first place in the Daily News Journal's Ruthie Awards in the "Favorite MTSU Professor" category.
